He's famous for being a Hollywood maverick, specializing in playing oddballs and weirdos. But actor Johnny Depp, star of the hit Gothic comedy Sleepy Hollow, looked just like any other doting father when he took his baby daughter Lily-Rose Melody out for a stroll along LA's sunny streets.

He couldn't resist cuddling the nine-month-old tot and despite being a hot favourite with some of the most beautiful women in the world, only had eyes for his girlfriend, stunning French model, actress and singer Vanessa Paradis, 27, of Joe Le Taxi fame.

Johnny had a string of broken relationships-most notably with actress Winona Ryder and a four year on-off affair with superwaif supermodel Kate Moss-before getting it together with Vanessa. The pair met at a dinner party in the summer of 1998, when Johnny was in Paris filming The Ninth Gate with Roman Polanski.

It was love at first sight and Vanessa was soon pregnant.

Since then, the former Hollywood hellraiser-well known as a party animal with a wild side and owner of The Viper Room nightclub-has become the perfect gentleman. He's smitten with being a dad and is even turning his back on the celebrity circuit of LA, basing himself largely in France so the couple can have a more private family life away from the pressures and violence of America.

'Fatherhood is the best thing that's ever happened to me,' enthuses Johnny, 36. 'Without question, this is the greatest thing I've done in my life. Vanessa and I have been blessed and it's the happiest time of my life.

'In France, life is simple. We can walk to the store without having to worry about being mugged or some guy dealing crack on the streets.'

And he's determined that, despite the pressures of fame, his family will come first. After filming Sleepy Hollow, he took time out from his career to chill out and be with Vanessa and the baby in the luxury apartment they share in Paris's arty Montmartre district.

'The most important thing is my family. Nothing else matters,' says Johnny. 'There will be no time of separation, I want them to be with me, or me with them, wherever that happens to be. I don't want to miss a second.'

Now here we go with what the article says in substance it says they are glad Vanessa is back and that the two have a really cute girl (we all know that and agree with this statement). It says they are in Spain for 6 months that's the time it's going to take to shoot the movie in Spain and Vanessa was a little reluctant to accept it because of this 6 months but it was a small sacrifice compared to the one she had to do if she left Johnny on his own for 6 months (that i do understand too). The pix were taken in the square next to the hotel monastery where they stayed, near Saragosse. They also said something about Johnny's bad temper. They said he lost his temper and was pretty mad after one of Vanessa's fans when they came to Cannes two weeks ago. It also gives the answer to Vanessa's happiness which is always the same equation Vanessa + Johnny + Lily Rose = bliss for as she said yesterday night there is no such a word in French to express this kind of happiness. And the last but not the least they say she came to Paris on her own with Lily Rose for it's always like this either it's Johnny and Lilly or Vanessa and Lilly and they announced she will perform most of the songs from her new LP on Canal + on Thursday and that Lily Rose is staying with her to promote her new LP release.

DEPP FILMS WITH VANESSA

JOHNNY DEPP HAS clearly got a thing for horses. Not content with buying the one-eyed Belgian steed he rode in Sleepy Hollow, Depp has already taken a shine to his equine co-star (the big white brute with David Beckham's pre-crop cut, above) in his new film, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote - currently filming in Northern Spain. Depp plays an advertising exec who ends up being transported many hundreds of years into the past (doesn't that always happen at the most inconvenient times?) where he meets Don Quixote, an ageing adventurer who likes nothing better than getting on his horse and seeking romance and excitement. And.... romance and excitement follow. Directed by Terry Gilliam, who directed Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, the film stars Johnny's missus, Vanessa Paradis, too.

The article reads -

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis hang out with the family in Beverly Hills:

Shunning Hollywood to spend more time with the family is easier said than done, so when the studios made Johnny Depp an offer he couldn't refuse, the off-beat actor decided to make the best of both worlds. Currently splashing about on the set of 'Pirates of the Caribbean', the 39-year-old heart-throb spends time between takes with his partner Vanessa Paradis, daughter Lily-Rose, three, and seven-month-old son Jack, who have flown over from the family home in Paris.

On one such break from playing a gentleman rogue on the high seas, Johnny and his family set a course for the Beverly Hills branch of a leading home entertainment megastore, where Vanessa left the devoted father to amuse baby Jack while she and Lily-Rose lost themselves in the aisles of the DVD section.

But the babysitter took over when the couple enjoyed a romantic night out together last Monday at a Rolling Stones concert.

Johnny wraps up filming in December, so the whole family can then head back to France in time for Christmas.
