THE POEM -
Indian in Paris
I'm looking for the indian
in a french labyrinth
called Paris
I follow the tracks
the signs and I've found the mark
I follow the sweet music
that follows you, Indian
I see the footprint
of his old boot
engraved on the floor
an inscription of confusion
I'm waiting for him
to show his well hidden face
His woollen hat
has lost his feathers
He's hiding. I know it
I can feel his presence
The melody of the little girl's song
is taking you higher
to the balcony in smoke
to far for me to reach
I couldn't see you
I did find you
I'll leave you with a present
my little Indian
What would you do,
if you were looking for me?
